I agree...
I wouldn't be the size or have the strength I do without deadlifts...
Don't get me wrong, I love squats too, but deadlifts are king for me...

Re: Plexus
Deadlifts are a great mass builder too. Some people do get more out of deads than squats and vice versa.

If that were the case there wouldn't be anything known as KFC syndrome.
How many guys at my gym have great upper bodies yet calves, hamstrings, quads that are non-existent are testament to this.

Squats grew my quads, deads grew my whole posterior. I guess there is way too many factors that come into play to even consider what has been the main attribute though.

Re: Plexus
I don't doubt the benefits of doing legs. I did legs for a long time and my thighs were looking really good. My calves are genetically great and my butt grew too big and I became self concious about it.
While the muscle in my legs has now been reduced, I still have a nice shape with little fat. I'm not unhappy with it.
I have great flexibility and core strength. I can place palms flat on the floor when cold, do a complete back bend from standing and come back up, and I can place my head on the ground, tops of my toes touching the ground and bring my legs stiff-legged up into a headstand and transition into a hand stand. Needless to say my core = great.
I have been off cycle for 8 weeks and even though I had 4 weeks off gym i've now come back stronger than ever before. I smashed my PB on bench last night - 6 reps x 80kg + bar (100kg). All my shirts are tighter, I have a bigger chest, bigger back, bigger arms, massive delts compared to where I was 6 months ago. I am on top of the world.
I really think with my low test, my body is able to hold more muscle in my upper body because it doesn't have to maintain the muscle in my lower body. At some stage you're only going to have enough testosterone to maintain x% of muscle in your body. I am essentially trying to redistribute the muscle to my upper body and I think it's working.
This is a bit "out there" in terms of theories but since stopping legs, and finishing cycle, i've gained more muscle in upper body, and got stronger than ever before.
Having said that, I will try to start lower body again in about 6 months. I'm onto a good thing here and i don't want to mess it up.
