LOL. Dont forget the withered rose.
I love some tatts. Some that have true meaning are great and some of the well done ones will hopefully stand the test of time but there are many that will fail i reckon.

I'm in the process of getting my first tat designed and drawn up... I'm not about to stick something on me thats there forever without it meaning something...
It's going to have the welsh dragon and something to do with symbolic meaning of my family on there...
Sometime down the track I've always said I'd get my kids names when I have some...

Both my arms have ink.
The left arm is a tribute (symbolically) to the important women who've been in my life. The right arm is a tribute to my ex-wife and children. I'm a firm believer in tattoos that have a reason, not just cause they're cute. Eventually, I will join both arms across my back and the mural will be complete. I have to sell the first born child to pay for it all though.

Ive got a uruguayan sun on my back with my surname in old english styloe writing and on my right arm i have an infinity band that changes colour from black to blue to green and to black again. Im in the process of designing a sleeve from about 10 cms above my wrist that goes all the way up to my shoulder.
Its taking a while but i gotta do it write and all ink that goes on my body has a deeper meaning.

Bump this back up...
Ive got 1 sided shorts. It is incomplete at the moment and I either have to go back to NZ or wait for my artist to come back over here.
It is a Ta Moko (traditional maori tattoo), The final meeting of it is a range of things. It has me and my fiancee on it, my family tree, the loss of an unborn, and the loss of a close friend. Basically it is symbolic of my journey through life and the things that have past, current things, and things in the future.
It has taken me 2-2.5 yrs to get me to where i am and i still have a long way to go till ill be complete.
Currently it goes 2/3rds around my right leg, over my lower stomach on the right hand side. and is not fully detailed yet.
Ill try get some foto's of it up for you guys to have a look at.
ps. With clothes on (shorts and shirt) you wouldnt have a clue what is underneath. As im sure you have realised that this is not a show off or an un thought of tattoo. There is a deep and personally meaning behind it and it is unique to me, As there is no way anybody has the same. Done free hand for me and my journey.

wasn't a moko traditionally something that had to be "earned", and was carved into the skin with a bone? why not go all the way man, i'll cut you with bone if you like.
on another note, my mrs has "micks property" on her arse cheek, true, i can post up a photo if someone calls me out on it

Its either earned as a warrior or status within the tribe or by birth right (descended from cheifs) As it is my grandfather was, My grandfather was the son of a Chief, then it was handed down to his older brother. So by rights its my birth right. But these days its different. People dont go round killing neibouring villagers to become warriors, and chiefs are almost unheard of lol
Basically its acceptable if you have a true meaning behind it. i think mine fits it perfect.
Yes mick there were done with a bone and carved out, but fk that!!! lol. Ill just stick to the gun work. Plus its very hard to find artists that do it good. New ages lol. Let me find a camera and ill get a few pics up. My artist is a very well known artist and master carver and a teacher of maori arts and history at some uni. cant remember which 1
So mick you've got good photo shop skills? hahaha na jokes man post that up! i been trying to con my missus to put my name but she wont lol

Ok ill try take some fotos this weekend. Its incomplete at the moment and has only been out lined then double lined and a little shading. Next step is detail so it still looks un finished. Hoping to get more before christmas when artist comes back over or in April when i head over there.

I have a few tatts. Last one i got is my daughters first name on the outside of my forearm. It is large, cursive black ink from elbow to wrist which runs over a blossoming red rose in the background (Rose is her middle name). It's hard to describe really, it is kind of Ed Hardy / Christian Audigier inspired and a little rustic, old fashioned looking if that helps.
