Perception is reality and the things we say and the advice we give are so easy from a position of insensitivity. But we're rock solid aren't we? Mentally? Emotionally?

We have the answers don't we? We can guide anyone to the success we have. What Success? Success as a parent, success as a spouse, success in our relationships? Happiness? Or acceptance of the fact that life isn't about happy but we're content. Lacking depression and never comoflauging but always resolving our issues? Hrmmm?

Age doesn't always come with a free box of wisdom but it does come with a dose of delusion and arrogance... for some.

If by chance this is aimed at me, then man up and say so.

I don't claim to be anything special, but then in this case, I don't need to be.

Laz thanks for your reply. I could have probably saved myself $160 today by waiting for your response, instead I went and had a chat with a Psychologist.

I have never been to a Shrink before but I just needed to talk it out, not just the sister-in-law stuff, but all of it, including the lack of attraction to my wife. Basically, the Shrink said "Leave your sister-in-law alone AND leave your wife. You are not attracted to her and it will never work. If you don't leave you will become an arsehole to live with and when you are presented with an opportunity to cheat, which WILL happen at some stage - you will take it."

Apparently, I need to feel attraction and have a healthy sex life in order to feel like a "man". Feeling like a "man" means more chance of feeling complete and happy with my life. I don't need another mother, sister, grandmother in my life I need to have someone I am genuinely attracted too and want to be with - not just put up with cause it the safe option.

I mentioned to him how hard it would be to just up and leave right now with a young baby at home. He replied "Do you think it will be any easier when the kid is one year old, two years old, five years old? Will you be any less of an arsehole then?" He reckons it is best to do it now and let me and her move on and find real happiness in life. e.g. I am clearly not happy, and if she really new what I thought then she would be very unhappy too.

Amongst other things he said "Still be a good father, parenthood will be good for you and give you growth. Leaving your wife should not stop you from being the best father you can be".

    Fuck heavy shit, heh?

    Mate, that it is.

I didn't want to sound harsh, and I was trying to give an opinion based on my own bitter experiences.

I'm happy you sought some professional advice. I wish I had of much earlier than I did.

    Best of luck with it.

Is there any chance of talking about the lack of attraction with your wife? See if it improves?

I have to say that's some great advice. If you really want to leave you probably should, but definitely be a good father. It's better to leave now than wait till the child is six or eight...

Good luck to you and keep us updated

religion is a massive load! Its a science world fellahs get with times hahaha
But i do agree that religious values do teach morals. Morals is the true factor.

Look it is very close to home... Will you get caught? I think YES. If you really need to get your rocks off, go to the broth. You dont have to worry about getting caught just dont pay with your credit card lol.
