Default Anyone know fishing spots at Rottnest Island

Hey guys,

I'm heading over to Rotto on the weekend to go spearring and fishing. Does anyone have any good spots over there?

I just go off the Jetty Only get herring though and the odd stingray.

There are only certain parts you can go spearing over there so your kinda limited. I think most places on the island are pretty good for fishing.

I'm heading over there in April, can't wait, awesome place.

Have you got a boat or you catching the ferry over?

We're heading over there in a boat. Going to head round to west end. As for spearing, you have to be a little way away from the island in certain sections.

I was wondering if anyone had any mad gps points they could flick me?

Cheers Spaghetti.

I wish I could help mate. I'm originally from Perth but it's been over 10 years since I've been to Rottnest and I'm sure it's changed a lot.

Well it was my birthday on friday so we went out and got a little messy at Clancy's canning hwy.

Woke up extremely way to early for the state I was in, but we managed to head over at 9am.

The water and wind was perfect. 5 knots all day the swell was 1.1 i think. Anyway, we were able to go flat out all the way there, doing 40knots. At one point we got airborn, that was a good laugh.

As for the fishing, we just drifted around at the west end of rotto. We were looking for holes but it's pretty flat all round there.
Every fish we caught was some weird bloddy thing that we couldn't identify. Apart from on very small Dhu that my mate caught.

Anyway, better luck next time and no booze the night before.

Croc.
