I still love squats though.

I did my same routine this Saturday as I did the Saturday before: 3 or 4 sets of Sqauts all to failure, some wide stance, others narrow stance. Then onto Lunges for 4 sets to complete failure. This time was better, I felt better afterwards and my strength and feelings of wellbeing were up all day. My appetite has increased, so I'm not getting as sore now.

A leg session I had almost 2 weeks ago absolutely killed me too the point where I couldn't eat much and I felt a bit sick all day, like I was "burning the candle" type sick.

But now my appetite has returned and the mass shall also return in time.

I have slightly in the past, but I've never actually thrown-up.

Yeah after training legs, that same day sometimes my upper body feels pumped, my arms and forearms fell pumped and full, the veins are sticking out and looking vascular.

I have never thrown up but a few years ago I was so light headed after doing legs that I almost fainted. The sweat was rolling off me and I had to sit down quickly with my head between my legs.

A PT mate of mine put me through a leg circuit the other day which I could not finish due to the overwhelming feeling of sickness and lightheadedness... The workout probably wasn't much of a muscle builder, more conditioning and cardio but it was still hell...

3 Warmup sets of deadlifts concentrating on hammy and glute activation to start (90Kg, 130Kg, 150Kg)
4x5 Heavy deadlifts (170Kg)

5min rest

1st circuit.... 3 sets no rest between exercises, 1 min rest between sets...
10x 45degree leg press @12RM (300Kg)
10x explosive squat jumps holding 10Kg plate
2min sprint on bike with medium to high resistance keeping above 90rpm

5min rest

2nd circuit... 3 sets no rest between exercises, 1 min rest between sets...
10x front squat @12RM (100Kg)
10x explosive lunge jumps (switching legs with each jump, 10 each side, 20 total)
2min fast walk on treadmill with full incline

Got through the deads easy, didn't realise what was coming though...
1st circuit was taxing, the 3rd set my legs were absolute jelly before the bike sprint and i thought they might just fall off even after 30sec of the 2 min... Couldn't wait for the break between circuits as the sick feeling was coming on already!
2nd circut started and i literally was having trouble moving my legs fast enough to keep up with the pace of the treadmill even though it wasn't all that fast, hammies were tightening up and almost cramping at one point...
So i ended up getting through the first set, but the second i pretty much fell off the the treadmill (would have fallen if my mate wasn't there to catch me)... This was followed by a very quick stagger over to the nearest bin where i thought i was about to loose my lunch...

I urge anyone who wants a challenge to give it a go...

Hmmmm I'll pass mate. I think I'd have a heart attack doing that! I'm pretty fit but if you couldn't complete it then I sure as hell won't be able to.

Wasn't so much the fitness aspect that was killing me (and it was hard in that aspect too), but more so the consistant battering my legs were getting...
I'm used to 3 or 4 heavy sets of 5 or 6, next exercise same thing, then maybe one exercise at 12 reps, then a couple of hammy exersises around the 8 rep mark... But the constant battering the legs were getting with the combination of heavy work, plyometrics, and endurace was ridiculous!
The trainer's advise to me was that next time we do it start a little lighter on the big lifts and maybe lengthen the rest breaks on the 2nd and 3rd sets...

I'm not in a hurry to try it all again though!

I usually do high reps.

I do medium to high reps for my whole body actually.
